Overview
About the Programme
SYTO's Community Service Programme places students and youth, both international and local, in meaningful placements where they gain work experience by volunteering their time to community projects, education, health centres, industries, public institutions, and non-governmental organisations in Ghana. Placements typically run from two to four weeks.

What's Included
Group Volunteering
Student groups volunteering together, either as part of a course requirement or community service, are placed according to their interest. SYTO provides a local supervisor throughout the stay and plans the itinerary with each group's leadership before arrival.
Teach Ghana
3 months – 1 yearA subset of community volunteering, Teach Ghana lets participants share their knowledge and skills with students in Ghana. SYTO places volunteers in both private and public community schools for placements of three months to one year.
Summer Schools
During school vacations, children from nearby villages assemble in one school while volunteers teach Monday to Friday. The programme has proved highly effective, and headmasters and children alike have found it invaluable.
