Questions about SYTO Homestay

Is this like Airbnb or a hotel?

No. This is not a hotel and it is not Airbnb. It's a family. Every home is a verified Ghanaian household that invites you into everyday life, and every stay is backed in person by a SYTO coordinator.

How are host families vetted?

A SYTO Representative visits each home in person, inspects it, and trains the family before it is approved. Only homes that pass are listed as “SYTO Verified”.

Which regions can I stay in?

All 16 regions of Ghana, from Greater Accra and Ashanti to the Upper West and Western North. You choose your preferred region and town when you apply.

How does payment work?

You pay SYTO, and SYTO pays the host family. Payment is monthly with no hidden agent fees, so it stays transparent, safe, and professional for everyone.

How long can I stay?

Stays range from one week to twelve months. You set the duration that fits your studies, placement, or travel when you request a host family.

Do I choose my host family?

You choose your region, town, and duration. A SYTO coordinator then matches you after examining both your profile and the host family's, to ensure safety and cultural fit.

What if I need help during my stay?

Your regional SYTO coordinator provides 24/7 support for the whole stay. You are never left to handle a problem on your own.
